Christmas Program Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in helping with Anchored Ministries Christmas Program! This program is unique in many ways, and would absolutely not be possible without each and every volunteer with us that day. We are in need of volunteers to help during the week leading up to the one-day Christmas event and on the day of the event. Setup help involves the placement and setup of the building to be ready for the one-day Christmas event.
During the One-Day Christmas Event, parents and guardians of the children being sponsored will arrive to pick up their sponsored gifts, shop Santa’s Shop, wrap their gifts, receive a hot meal, and more importantly – be loved on, encouraged, and given hope.
Available Shifts
There are three shifts available (8:30a – 12:00p, 11:30a – 3:30p, 3:00p – 6:30p) to volunteer, and various areas to serve. Lunch and dinner will be provided to volunteers over those shifts.
Due to the sensitive nature of this event and confidentiality of those participating in the Christmas Program, this is strictly an adult only volunteer opportunity. Each volunteer must be at least 18 years old, and no longer in high school.
Volunteer Positions:
Gift Wrapping: Assist those receiving gifts by wrapping their presents with them. No experience is necessary, but it is certainly helpful. You don’t have to be the quickest or the best! Just come with a smile and willingness to work.
Gift Pick Up: Collect the vouchers for each family and give the sponsored gifts to the parent/guardian for each child. This may require some lifting of bags, and being on your feet.
Personal Shoppers / Runners: Personal Shoppers / Runners will place gifts in a shopping cart and take them over to the wrapping station, as well as assist participants in getting their gifts to their vehicles, retrieving the next wave of sponsored gifts, and floating where needed.
Cafe: Assist in the cafe with the food, drinks, while keeping it neat and tidy and engage with the participants.
Door Greeters: You’re the first face that participants see as they approach and enter the building. Greet each person that enters, open the door for them, and welcome them. Fun Christmas attire highly recommended (but not required, by any means).
Card / Survey Table: Each participant has the opportunity to write a thank you card to their sponsor, as well as complete a survey to help us know how we can improve for the following year. This volunteer will sit at the card table, hand out/collect the cards and surveys, keep the table tidy, and be a friendly face. This is a more relaxed volunteer spot, that will be sitting majority of the time.
